NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) accused Dr. Anthony Fauci on Thursday of misleading the public about the origins of COVID-19 and lying to Congress.
Cruz denounced Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, for his public health policies during the pandemic, alleging the former health official withheld information suggesting the coronavirus first originated in Wuhan, China, a theory that has divided the intelligence community.

The Texas senator then called for accountability, suggesting Fauci should be arrested for perjury.
“There has been no person who has done more to destroy trust in the scientific and medical community than Dr. Anthony Fauci, who told millions of Americans lies willingly, knowingly, glibly, and supremely arrogantly,” Cruz told a crowd of supporters at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday.

A criminal investigation should be opened into whether Dr. Anthony Fauci lied to Congress when he denied that his agency helped fund dangerous experiments in a Wuhan laboratory that might have caused the COVID-19 pandemic that killed more than 3.5 million people worldwide.
Fauci is medical adviser to the president and the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an agency within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He insisted repeatedly during his Senate testimony on May 11, 2021, that the roughly $600,000 in taxpayer money that the NIH funneled through a third party to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China was never used to support risky experiments – called gain-of-function research – to genetically enhance the pathogenic power of bat coronaviruses that infect humans.
"The NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute," he told a disbelieving Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.
Afterward, Sen. Paul declared that Fauci had lied. That was before BuzzFeed News revealed a trove of Fauci’s emails through a Freedom of Information Act request. The communications cast doubt on Fauci’s veracity during the Senate hearing. Upon reading them, Sen. Paul doubled down on his accusation by stating, "Fauci has been lying."

Fauci Could Face Hefty Prison Sentence for Lying AGAIN Under Oath
Dr. Anthony Fauci could face a hefty prison sentence after a newly unearthed video proves he lied under oath to Congress yet again
The video proves that Fauci lied to Congress when he denied previously knowing Ralph Baric and Peter Daszak, two of the top dogs involved with unleashing the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) “pandemic.” Naturalnews.com reports: The video below from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) website shows Baric telling a room full of people on June 24, 2013, about the alleged threat of Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and other mutant novel coronaviruses in the years leading up to the “pandemic.”
It turns out that Fauci organized this conference at which Baric spoke, proving that Fauci lied to Congress when he tried to play dumb and act as though he never knew Baric prior to late 2019 when Covid was unleashed.
Fauci himself can be seen in the above video speaking and introducing Baric and the others. The purpose of the event, according to Fauci, was to brainstorm about how to address a future pandemic, which we now know would occur about six years after the conference.

Dr Anthony Fauci has been accused by critics of lying after newly released documents appear to contradict his claims that the National Institute of Health did not fund gain-of-function research at China’s Wuhan lab.
Senator Rand Paul led the criticism against Dr Fauci on Tuesday after the documents, obtained by The Intercept, detailed grants given to EcoHealth Alliance — the non-profit that funneled federal funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for bat coronavirus research. Included in the trove of documents is a previously unpublished grant proposal that EcoHealth Alliance, which is run by Peter Daszak, filed with Dr Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.
Dr Fauci has repeatedly insisted that NIH funding of the Wuhan lab does not constitute as “gain-of-function” research, which modifies the biological agent, and in the case of a virus, could increase its transmissibility or virulence.
“Surprise surprise – Fauci lied again. And I was right about his agency funding novel coronavirus research at Wuhan,” Senator Paul tweeted after the documents were made public.
In a follow-up tweet later in the day Tuesday, Senator Paul said he was referring the issue to the Department of Justice.
“I have already asked the DOJ to review Fauci’s testimony for lying to Congress,” he wrote. “This report should make it abundantly clear that he needs to be held accountable.”
